hi Tony. read your stuff about how glamour girls scramble for piece of India. interesting observation but reading your stuff i couldn't quite make out why you have written about it. any particular thing you want to convey? Would like to convey my observations but. liz hurley is no stranger to India and Mumbai's party circle since this guy .. her husband knows a lotta Bollywood people and his business is also based in mumbai. angelina jolie, am sure would not have come to india but had to since pak didn't give them permission to shoot the film but nevertheless they hardly interacted with indians -- were busy spending time with the maharaja in rajasthan and their own social circle -- even beat up photographers and in the end made a courtesy visit to the political hub. ashley judd was on a world tour -- she was visiting 10-12 nations (i guess) which were most affected from hiv/aids and human rights isses. so her coming to india is not an isolated example. but you are quite true about shakira and scarlett though -- shakira am not too sure how successful the show was since didn't get to read much in any of the newspapers and moreover the television channels too just interviewed three four people and celebrities and covered the event poorly.. scarlett infact did a good job. she didn't want limelight and gave no interviews even after repeated requests and went away as quietly as she came. highly credible of times of india though who broke the story. you could have pointed out goody as well -- but i believe she came to india with two purposes (visiting her relative and the so called apology) and she did very well doing it too inviting all possible tv channels and newspapers!! the point is the more the days go by expect more glam girls to fly down-- the more they come the better for us!! what say??
ReplyDeleteHi Anon, totally agree with your arguments but all said and done all these glamour girls did make a stopover in India. And as for Jane Goody, I doubt she'll be a glamour girl on anybody's list. Cheers!
